At first blush he impressed me because he actually listened to me and what I thought my needs and goals were. I was able to drop 80 pounds and lost over 14 dress sizes. The one thing that amazes me is even though I have met my personal goal, I am still seeing impressive results everywhere, my back, legs, arms, even in my feet. WOW. Kai is able to push you, motivate you, and take you beyond your limits while still making the workout fresh, fun, exciting and interesting. He will never have you do the same routine twice – he continually keeps up with his education in Kinesiology and it shows because he has a plethora of workout routines. Kai is very knowledgeable when it comes to the human anatomy, impressively knowledgeable with working around an injury, knows his stuff about nutrition and gives excellent advice about healthy choices, healthy substitutions, and the importance of keeping your body hydrated. Through all my whining, Kai never judged me, never made me feel inadequate, or incapable, or fat – quite the opposite because I had so much to lose, he motivated me, encouraged me, and when I truly could not perform something, he would change/modify the routine to strengthen a particular area and then took me back to the exercise; and, when you realize you can finally perform it with ease, it’s exhilarating and addicting. I had a knee injury which limited my mobility in every area and because of his knowledge, expertise and skill, I am able to do things I never thought I would ever do again, for instance, climbing stairs. I highly recommend Kai to family, friends and everyone I meet. I confidently and without reservation give Kai 5 stars.”

“I have always been an active person, enjoying running and training with weights. Unfortunately, I was stuck in a rut and was not happy with my body.
I started training with Rhea and saw amazing results. She approached my training by starting with the basics and increasing the difficulty as I could handle it during every single workout session. With her, she was focused on me, making sure my form and pacing were impeccable. By not allowing me to "cheat," she made each and every exercise effective, and as a result, I started seeing incredible gains in my strength and ability.
I adapt very easily to exercise, and Rhea came up with challenging workouts for me twice a week for two years. During those two years, I was sore most every single workout. “I have been training with JD 9 months now. I signed up because I had spent the last 2 years working out inconsistently and quite honestly just wandering around from machine to machine, not sure on direction or proper form. This led to a lot of me just spinning my wheels and no real results. I also wanted a professional that could empathize and be creative with my workouts. I suffer from a rare neurological disease called Charcot-Marie-Tooth (CMT) that affects the nerves in my feet. This poor nerve connection causes weakness in my lower limbs, numbness, bad balance, and poor ankle mobility. I came in nervous and vulnerable that a trainer would not understand, or even get frustrated with me—I am happy to say I was very wrong.

Over the time training with JD, I have learned a lot about proper form, muscle activation, nutrition, and have accomplished things I am very proud of. When I started in November, I weighed 228 lbs (for reference I am 6’6”) and had a lot of work to do in regards to strength training and balance. I remember not even being able to do a proper lunge without losing balance—now I can do them with kettlebells in my hands. I had a goal of being able to bench press 225 lbs because that’s the classic two 45 plates on each side—I really surprised myself the day we went to max out… not only did I do 225, but I went all the way up to cranking out 265. We also just hit 500 lbs on the leg press last week. I now weigh 240 lbs, yet my waist has gotten smaller. 

I’d like to close by reiterating that these results did not come overnight. This is after consistently showing up 3x a week for 9 months now. JD’s style of training has showed me to trust in him and his process— because the results are there. I look forward to each workout to see just how far I can push myself. I came
